Authorization to allow the Director of Procurement and Materials Management to accept pricing for the procurement of Renewable Energy Credits for 2025 and 2026

Dear Sir:

 

Authorization is requested to allow the Director of Procurement and Materials Management to accept pricing for the procurement of Renewable Energy Credits (RECs) for 2025 and 2026. The Board of Commissioners approved allocation of $500,000.00 in the 2025 budget for the purchase of RECs at the December 12, 2024 Board Meeting. Allocation of $500,000.00 in the 2026 budget is subject to 2026 budget approval by the Board of Commissioners.  The District will utilize Contract 21-RFP-06, Environmental Attributes Services Provider, for the procurement of RECs.

 

In view of the foregoing, it is requested that the Board of Commissioners authorize the Director of Procurement and Materials Management to accept pricing for procurement of RECs for 2025 and 2026, subject to the maximum allocation of $500,000.00 annually. This authorization expires December 31, 2026.
