Contract documents and specifications have been prepared for Contract 23-935-11, Furnishing and Delivering Sodium Hydroxide, at the request of the Maintenance and Operations Department.
The purpose of this contract is to procure sodium hydroxide for a thirteen-month period to maintain the proper pH in the phosphorous recovery facility reactor at the Stickney Water Reclamation Plant.
The estimated cost for this contract is $752,000.00. The estimated 2023 and 2024 expenditures are $460,000.00 and $292,000.00, respectively.
The bid deposit for this contract is $37,600.00.
The Multi-Project Labor Agreement (MPLA) and Affirmative Action Ordinance Revised Appendix D and Appendix V are not included in this contract because it is a furnish and deliver contract.
The tentative schedule for this contract is as follows:

Award February 2, 2023
Completion March 31, 2024
Funds are being requested in 2023, in Account 101-69000-623560, and are contingent on the Board of Commissioners’ approval of the District’s budget for that year. Funds for the subsequent year, 2024, are contingent on the Board of Commissioners’ approval of the District’s budget for that year.
In view of the foregoing, it is recommended that the Director of Procurement and Materials Management be authorized to advertise Contract 23-935-11.
