Dear Sir:

 

Contract documents and specifications have been prepared to procure operating engineering and related trade services for the Main Office Building Complex for a thirty-six (36) month period.

 

The purpose of this contract is to provide operating engineers, various other trades, mechanical support, repairs, preventive maintenance, and inspection services for the Main Office Building Complex, for a thirty-six (36) month period.

 

The estimated cost for this contract is $4,847,800.00. The estimated 2021, 2022, 2023, and 2024 expenditures are $388,000.00, $1,615,000.00, $1,617,800.00, and $1,227,000.00, respectively.

 

The is no bid deposit required for this contract.

 

The contract specifications require that all work commence October 1, 2021 or after approval of the contractor’s bond, whichever occurs later, and shall be completed thirty-six (36) months thereafter, or upon expenditure of available funds, whichever occurs sooner.

 

The Multi-Project Labor Agreement (MPLA) will be included in this contract.

 

The Affirmative Action Ordinance Revised Appendix D, and Appendix C will be included in this contract. The type of work performed under the contract is within the “Mechanical” category for establishing Minority-owned Business Enterprises (MBE), Women-owned Business Enterprises (WBE), and Small Business Enterprises (SBE) utilization goals. The MBE and/or WBE, and SBE utilization goals for this contract are: 2% MBE and/or 2% WBE, and 2% SBE. A supplier’s exception has been recommended.

 

The tentative schedule for this contract is as follows:

Advertise                                          July 20, 2021

Bid Opening                                          August 11, 2021

Award                                                               September 2, 2021

Completion                                          September 30, 2024

 

Funds for the 2021 expenditure in the amount of $388,000.00 in Accounts 101-15000-612370/612390 are available. Funds for the subsequent years, 2022, 2023, and 2024, are contingent on the Board of Commissioners’ approval of the District’s budget for those years.

 

In view of the foregoing, it is recommended that the Director of Procurement and Materials Management be authorized to advertise Contract 21-416-11.
