Authority to advertise Contract 20-684-11, Painting of Final Tanks at Various Locations, estimated cost $2,770,000.00, Accounts 101-67000/68000/69000-612650, Requisitions 1534635, 1534636, and 1534637

Dear Sir:

 

Contract documents and specifications have been prepared for Contract 20-684-11, Painting of Final Tanks at Various Locations, at the request of the Maintenance and Operations Department.

 

The purpose of this contract is to replace the protective coatings and scraper blades on various final tanks at the Stickney, Calumet, and O'Brien Water Reclamation Plants over a three-year period.

 

The estimated cost for this contract is $2,770,000.00. The estimated 2020, 2021 and 2022 expenditures are $480,000.00, $1,140,000.00, and 1,150,000.00, respectively.

 

The Multi-Project Labor Agreement (MPLA) will be included in this contract.

 

The Affirmative Action Ordinance, Revised Appendix D, will be included in this contract. The type of work to be performed under the contract is within the “Construction Services” category for establishing Minority-owned Business Enterprises (MBE), Women-owned Business Enterprises (WBE), and Small Business Enterprise (SBE) utilization goals. The tailored utilization goals for this contract are 20% MBE, 10% WBE, and 10% SBE. Appendix V will not be included.

 

The tentative schedule for this contract is as follows:

Bid Opening                                          June 9, 2020

Award                                                               July 16, 2020

Completion                                           December 31, 2022

 

Funds for 2020 are available in Accounts 101-67000/68000/69000-612650. Funds for the subsequent years, 2021 and 2022, are contingent on the Board of Commissioners’ approval of the District’s budget for those years.

 

In view of the foregoing, it is recommended that the Director of Procurement and Materials Management be authorized to advertise Contract 20-684-11.
