Dear Sir:
Contract documents and specifications have been prepared for Contract 27-348-11, Services to Remove Hazardous Materials from Various District Locations, on an as-needed basis for a three-year period.
The purpose of this contract is to provide specialized removal services for hazardous materials, including asbestos, lead, and mold, as well as disinfection of areas that may pose a health risk to employees. The services are required to maintain a safe work environment.
The estimated cost for this contract is $275,000.00. The estimated expenditures for 2027, 2028, and 2029 are $92,500.00, $92,500.00, and $90,000.00, respectively.
A bid deposit is not required for this contract.
The contract states that work shall commence upon the approval of the contractor’s bond, as directed by the Safety Manager or designee, and shall be completed on or before December 31, 2029. The contract term is from January 1, 2027, through December 31, 2029.
The Multi-Project Labor Agreement (MPLA) will be included in this contract.
The Affirmative Action Ordinance, Revised Appendix D, will be included in this contract. The type of work to be performed under this contract falls within the “General Construction Services” category. The associated Minority Business Enterprise (MBE), Women Business Enterprise (WBE), and Veteran-Owned Business Enterprise (VBE) individual goals are: 15% MBE and/or WBE, and 3% VBE. The MBE and WBE goals do not apply to items in the contract specified as allowances, contingencies, and unit price.

Award October 15, 2026
Completion December 31, 2029
Funds for 2027, 2028, and 2029 will be requested in Account 101-25000-612780 and are contingent upon the Board of Commissioners’ approval of the District’s budget for those years.
In view of the foregoing, it is recommended that the Director of Procurement and Materials Management be authorized to advertise Contract 27-348-11.
