Dear Sir:

 

On January 22, 2009, the Board of Commissioners authorized the Director of Procurement and Materials Management to issue a purchase order and enter into an agreement with Burns & McDonnell Engineering Co., for Contract 07-857-2S Civil Consulting Support Services in an amount not to exceed $1,500,000.00. The scheduled contract completion date is December 31, 2012.

 

This contract has no prior change orders.

 

Burns & McDonnell Engineering Co. performed services in the amount of $85,838.70 in 2009 and $72,646.90 in 2010. This change order reduces the agreement by $841,514.40, which is the unspent balance from 2009 and 2010.

 

This change order is in compliance with the Illinois Criminal Code since the change is due to circumstances not reasonably foreseeable at the time the contract was signed, and is in the best interest of the District.

 

It is hereby recommended that the Board of Commissioners authorize the Director of Procurement and Materials Management to execute a change order to decrease the purchase order and amend the agreement in an amount of $841,514.40 (56.10% of the current contract value), from an amount of $1,500,000.00, to an amount not to exceed $658,485.60.

 

Funds will be restored in Account 201-50000-601440.
