MEMORIAL RESOLUTION FOR BOARD MEETING OF MAY 1, 2008

MEMORIAL RESOLUTION sponsored by the Board of Commissioners extending sympathy and condolences to the family of Bishop John H. McCall (As Revised)

Body

 

WHEREAS, Bishop John H. McCall, a native of Lowndes County, Alabama, moved to Chicago at a young age; and

 

WHEREAS, Bishop McCall was honorably discharged from his duties as a welder in the United States Army after four years of service that included assignments in China, Burma and India and receiving two bronze stars; and

 

WHEREAS, Bishop McCall was a past president of the Winneconna Lakes Improvement Association in Auburn Park, where he served for many years; and

 

WHEREAS, Bishop McCall was a loving and devoted husband to his wife of 57 years, Jessie Christina; and

 

WHEREAS, together they were blessed with two wonderful children, Karen Rebecca and John Sullivan; and

 

WHEREAS, over the years, their family expanded to include precious grandchildren Karen, Davetta, Katrina, Kristina, John Sullivan, Jr. and Jason and eleven cherished great-grandchildren; and

 

WHEREAS, countless people found strength through this dedicated servant of God, who for 42 years served as the pastor of Prince of Peace Apostolic Church, preaching the Gospel of Christ regardless of the season and compelling many souls to be saved; and

 

WHEREAS, as an active member of the Apostolic Church of God, he served in many areas of the ministry and most recently was an active member of the Illinois District Council of the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World; and 

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that we, the Board of Commissioners of the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago, on behalf of ourselves and staff, extend our sympathy and condolences to the family of Bishop John H. McCall; and

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that this Resolution be spread upon the permanent Record of Proceedings of the Board of Commissioners of the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago and that a copy of same, suitably engrossed, be presented to the family of Bishop John H. McCall.
