RESOLUTION sponsored by the Board of Commissioners recognizing Chicago Water Week (As Revised)
Body
WHEREAS, Chicago Water Week will be held this year from May 3rd-9th. Created as a tool for bringing together the best minds in water use and preservation, Chicago Water Week highlights the integral role that water plays in our everyday lives; and
WHEREAS, Chicago Water Week plays a pivotal role in helping to address the critical issues that currently exist within our water environment. This event provides education and creates collaborations between experts in the water industry; and
WHEREAS, in recognition of Chicago Water Week, the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago is hosting an open house with Scouts as special guests at the O’Brien Water Reclamation Plant and will also be providing a virtual tour; and
WHEREAS, Current celebrates its 10-year anniversary this year. Founded in 2016, Current is a partnership between the City of Chicago, World Business Chicago, local research universities and other agencies. The Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago is a founding member of Current. The goal of Current is to advance water protection by creating alliances between various government agencies, organizations, businesses, and individuals; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that we, the Board of Commissioners of the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago, on behalf of ourselves and our staff, do hereby recognize Chicago Water Week; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that this Resolution be spread upon the permanent Record of Proceedings of the Board of Commissioners of the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago.
