MOTION FOR BOARD MEETING OF JUNE 16, 2016

Title

MOTION to adopt policy restricting the use of toxic and persistent herbicides on landscaped areas and around facilities and infrastructure at the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago

Body

I hereby move to adopt the attached policy restricting the use of toxic and persistent herbicides on landscaped areas and around facilities and infrastructure at the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago.

I hereby further move that District staff monitor and evaluate the impact of this policy on the propagation of invasive weeds, the aesthetics of grounds and outlying areas, the security of Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago facilities and the safety of District staff and the public.

I hereby further move that an update be provided to the Board of Commissioners after three years of monitoring.
