Body

Dear Sir:

Contract documents and specifications have been prepared for Contract 27-696-11, Services of Tractor Mounted Paddle Aerators and Rotavators with Operators, at the request of the Maintenance and Operations Department.

The purpose of this contract is to provide equipment and labor to aid in the drying of biosolids. There will be two groups: Group A for LASMA and Group B for CALSMA. Separate contracts could be awarded for each group.

The estimated cost for this contract is $7,117,500.00. The estimated 2027, 2028, 2029, and 2030 expenditures are $1,553,600.00, $2,372,500.00, $2,372,500.00, and $818,900.00, respectively.

The Multi-Project Labor Agreement (MPLA) will be included in this contract.

The Affirmative Action Ordinance Revised Appendix D and Appendix V will not be included in this contract because there is an insufficient number of MBE/WBE/VBE firms available to perform this specialized work.

The tentative schedule for this contract is as follows:

Bid Opening                     January 12, 2027

Award                     February 4, 2027

In view of the foregoing, it is recommended that the Director of Procurement and Materials Management be authorized to advertise Contract 27-696-11.
