MEMORIAL RESOLUTION FOR BOARD MEETING OF FEBRUARY 2, 2012

MEMORIAL RESOLUTION sponsored by the Board of Commissioners extending sympathy and condolences to the family of Patricia Kay Crayton

Body

 

WHEREAS, Patricia Kay Crayton was born September 19, 1961 in Chicago, Illinois to Roosevelt and Melinda (Fair) Crayton, the eleventh child and baby of the family; and

 

WHEREAS, Ms. Crayton was called to eternal rest too soon; and

 

WHEREAS, Patricia was reunited with her parents, her brothers Willie, Roosevelt, Ollie, Ernest and Lawrence and her sister Elease who preceded her in death; and

 

WHEREAS, Patricia is survived by her son Christian Ja’van; her four sisters Barbara (John), Irene (Oni), Vera and Denise (Stephen); three brothers Willie (Katie), Albert and Calvin;  several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, one great-grand niece, many cousins and friends; and

 

WHEREAS, Ms. Crayton attended Sumner Elementary and graduated from John Hay Elementary, was an alumnus of Austin High School and earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Broadcast Communications from Columbia University; and

 

WHEREAS, Patricia was a deeply faithful person, baptized at the age of ten at St. Mark’s Church in Vicksburg, Mississippi; and

 

WHEREAS, Ms. Crayton wrote for the Chicago Defender and was once interviewed by Pam Zekman for a journalist position at NBC 5; and

 

WHEREAS, The family and friends of Patricia Kay Crayton, nicknamed “Tricky” by her father, will miss her love and devotion; especially her son Christian, who was the love of her life; and

  

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that we, the Board of Commissioners of the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago, on behalf of ourselves and staff, extend our sympathy and condolences to the family of Patricia Kay Crayton; and

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that this Resolution be spread upon the permanent Record of Proceedings of the Board of Commissioners of the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago, and that a copy of same, suitable engrossed, be presented to the family of Patricia Kay Crayton.
