Authority to advertise Contract 26-677-11, Overhead Door Maintenance at various Service Areas, estimated cost $597,000.00, Accounts 101-67000/68000/69000-612680, Requisitions 1643484, 1643074, and 1640185

Dear Sir:

 

Contract documents and specifications have been prepared for Contract 26-677-11, Overhead Door Maintenance at various Service Areas, at the request of the Maintenance and Operations Department.

 

The purpose of this contract is to provide overhead door maintenance at District facilities, for a thirty-six-month period. There will be three groups: Group A for the Stickney Service Area, Group B for the Calumet Service Area, and Group C for the North Service Area. Separate contracts could be awarded for each group.

 

The estimated cost for this contract is not to exceed $597,000.00. The estimated 2026, 2027, 2028, and 2029 expenditures are $153,200.00, $199,000.00, $199,000.00, and $45,800.00, respectively.

 

The Multi-Project Labor Agreement (MPLA) will be included in this contract.

 

The Affirmative Action Ordinance Revised Appendix D will be included in this contract. The type of work to be performed under the contract is within the “General Construction Services” category for establishing utilization goals for Minority-owned Business Enterprises (MBE) and Women-owned Business Enterprises (WBE). The individual goals for this contract are 7% MBE and/or 7% WBE.

 

The tentative schedule for this contract is as follows:

Award                                                                                   January 8, 2026

Completion                                                                    March 31, 2029

 

Funds for 2026, 2027, 2028, and 2029 are being requested in Accounts 101-67000/68000/69000-612680 and are contingent upon the Board of Commissioners' approval of the District's budget for those years.

 

In view of the foregoing, it is recommended that the Director of Procurement and Materials Management be authorized to advertise Contract 26-677-11.
