Dear Sir:

 

On December 15, 2022, the Board of Commissioners authorized the Director of Procurement and Materials Management to award Contract 22-614-11, Elevator Maintenance at Various Locations, Group A to Mid-American Elevator Company, Inc., in an amount not to exceed $428,280.00. The contract expires June 30, 2026.

 

As of February 5, 2026, the attached list of change orders has been approved.

An increase is requested to perform repairs to restore the elevators to service at the Aerated Grit Building and Engineering Building located at the Stickney WRP that were not known at the start of the contract, and to continue maintenance of the elevators in the Stickney Service Area. This change order is in compliance with the Illinois Criminal Code since the change is due to circumstances not reasonably foreseeable at the time the contract was signed and is in the best interest of the District.

 

The Affirmative Action Ordinance, Revised Appendix D goals for this contract are 20% Minority Business Enterprise (MBE), 20% Women Business Enterprise (WBE), and 10% Small Business Enterprise (SBE).

 

It is hereby recommended that the Board of Commissioners authorize the Director of Procurement and Materials Management to execute a change order to increase Contract 22-614-11, Group A in an amount of $161,000.00 (29.8% of the current contract value), from an amount of $540,780.00 to an amount not to exceed $701,780.00.

 

Funds are available in Accounts 101-69000-612600/612680.
