Dear Sir:

 

Contract documents and specifications have been prepared for Contract 20-614-11 Elevator Maintenance at Various Locations, at the request of the Maintenance and Operations Department.

 

This contract is to provide elevator maintenance for all District water reclamation plants and related facilities, annual testing and safety inspections, and submission of documents to the Office of the Illinois State Fire Marshal to acquire certificates of operation for a period of 3 years.

 

The estimated cost of this Contract is $1,083,182.34. The estimated 2020, 2021, 2022 and 2023 expenditures are $330,972.38, $361,060.78, $361,060.78 and $30,088.40, respectively.

 

The Multi-Project Labor Agreement (MPLA) will be included in this Contract.

 

The Affirmative Action Ordinance, Revised Appendix D will be included in this Contract. The type of work to be performed under the Contract is within the “Mechanical” category for establishing Minority-owned Business Enterprises (MBE), Women-owned Business Enterprises (WBE), Small Business Enterprises (SBE) and Veteran-owned Business Enterprise (VBE) utilization goals. The tailored utilization goals for this Contract are 20% MBE and/or WBE, and 10% SBE.

 

The tentative schedule for this contract is as follows:

Advertise                     January 22, 2020

Bid Opening                     February 11, 2020

Award                     February 20, 2020

Completion                     June 30, 2023

 

Funds are being requested in 2020 in Accounts 101-67000/68000/69000-612600/612680. Funds for the subsequent years, 2021, 2022 and 2023, are contingent on the Board of Commissioners’ approval of the District’s budget for those years.

 

In view of the foregoing, it is recommended that the Director of Procurement and Materials Management be authorized to advertise Contract 20-614-11.
