Dear Sir:

 

Contract documents and specifications have been prepared for Contract 25-646-51, Small Streams Maintenance in Cook County, Illinois, at the request of the Maintenance and Operations Department.

 

The purpose of this contract is to remove debris and blockages to maintain flow in the small streams of Cook County for a two-year period.

 

The estimated cost for this contract is not to exceed $3,890,000.00. The estimated 2025, 2026, and 2027 expenditures are $1,705,200.00, $1,945,000.00, and $239,800.00, respectively.

 

The Multi-Project Labor Agreement (MPLA) will be included in this contract.

 

The Affirmative Action Ordinance Revised Appendix D and Appendix V will be included in this contract.

The type of work to be performed under the contract is classified as “Miscellaneous Building Construction” for establishing utilization goals. The individual goals for this contract are 20% Minority-owned Business Enterprises (MBE), 9% Women-owned Business Enterprises (WBE), and 3% Veteran-owned Business Enterprises (VBE). The requirements of the Special Training Provisions for Apprentices are 770 Minority and 270 Female hours for the purpose of this contract.

 

The tentative schedule for this contract is as follows:

Advertise                                          December 11, 2024

Bid Opening                     January 14, 2025

Award                                                               February 20, 2025

Completion                      February 20, 2027

 

Funds are being requested in Accounts 101/501-50000/66000-612420/612620 and are contingent on the Board of Commissioners’ approval of the District’s budget for 2025, 2026, and 2027.

 

In view of the foregoing, it is recommended that the Director of Procurement and Materials Management be authorized to advertise Contract 25-646-51.
