Dear Sir:
Contract documents and specifications have been prepared for Janitorial Services at the Egan Water Reclamation Plant.
The purpose of this contract is to provide janitorial services to the Monitoring and Research Laboratory facilities and other locations at the Egan Water Reclamation Plant for an approximately 36-month period.
The estimated cost for this contract is $89,000.00. The estimated 2010, 2011, and 2012 expenditures are $29,000.00, $30,000.00 and $30,000.00, respectively.
The bid deposit for this contract is $4,450.00.
The contract specifications require the contractor to adhere to the maintenance schedule prescribed by the Engineer. Liquidated damages in the amount of $50.00 per calendar day may be assessed if the contractor breaches the schedule specified in the contract.
The Multi-Project Labor Agreement (MPLA) is not included in this contract because the classification of work does not fall within the provisions of the MPLA.
Revised Appendix D will not be included in this contract because the estimate is less than the minimum threshold established by Section 4 of the Affirmative Action Ordinance.

Funds for 2010 are being requested in Account 101-67000-612490, and are contingent on the Board of Commissioners’ approval of the District’s budget for that year. Funds for subsequent years, 2011 and 2012, are contingent on the Board of Commissioners’ approval of the District’s budget for those years.
In view of the foregoing, it is recommended that the Director of Procurement and Materials Management be authorized to advertise Contract 10-770-11.
