Dear Sir:
Authorization is requested to issue a purchase order to Drydon Equipment, Inc., to furnish and deliver parts for Hayward Gordon pumps and for various Varec equipment for the digester gas collector at the Egan Water Reclamation Plant. These purchase orders will expire December 31, 2013.
Drydon Equipment, Inc., the sole source authorized agent for Varec equipment, and Hayward Gordon pumps, mixers, and spare parts, has submitted prices for the parts required. Inasmuch as Drydon Equipment, Inc., is the only source of supply for the parts required, nothing would be gained by advertising for bids (Section 11.4 of the Purchasing Act).
Drydon Equipment, Inc., is registered and in good standing with the State of Illinois.
The Multi-Project Labor Agreement is not applicable because these are primarily furnish and deliver orders.
In view of the foregoing, it is recommended that the Director of Procurement and Materials Management be authorized to issue a purchase order to Drydon Equipment, Inc., in an amount not to exceed $28,500.00.
Funds for the 2012 expenditure in the amount of $14,500.00, are available in Account 101-67000- 623090, 623270. Funds for the 2013 expenditures in the amount of $14,000.00, are contingent on the Board of Commissioners' approval of the District's budget for that year.
