Contract documents and specifications have been prepared for Contract 16-810-21 Furnish and Deliver Six Submersible Grit Pumps to the Calumet Water Reclamation Plant, at the request of the Maintenance and Operations Department.
The existing grit pumps at the Calumet Water Reclamation Plant clog frequently. Replacing the existing pumps with more powerful pumps will eliminate the clogging problem. The new pumps will be replaced by the District’s Trades.
The estimated cost for this contract is $102,000.00.
There is no bid deposit required for this contract.
The Multi-Project Labor Agreement (MPLA) is not applicable to this contract because it is primarily a furnish and deliver contract.
The Affirmative Action Ordinance, Revised Appendix D will not be included in this contract because it is primarily a furnish and deliver contract.
The tentative schedule for this contract is as follows:
Advertise July 20, 2016
Bid Opening August 9, 2016
Award September 1, 2016
Completion December 31, 2016
Funds are available in Account 201-50000-634650.
In view of the foregoing, it is recommended that the Director of Procurement and Materials Management be authorized to advertise Contract 16-810-21.
