Authorization to amend the Board Order of May 21, 2009 for Authority to advertise Contract 09-619-11 Rebabbitting Pump and Blower Bearings at the Stickney, Calumet and North Side Water Reclamation Plants, 101-67000/68000/69000-612600, Requisitions 1266701, 1275132 and 1273222, Agenda Item No. 30, File Number 09-0777

Dear Sir:
At the board meeting of May 21, 2009, the Board of Commissioners authorized the Director of Procurement and Materials Management to engage in the above stated action, agenda item No. 30, file number 09-0777.
Subsequent to the May 21, 2009, meeting, Stickney plant forces canceled their requested portion of the contract due to budgetary issues. The Maintenance and Operations Department will be able to meet the needs of the Stickney Water Reclamation Plant in house, for the near term. Thereby, the following changes are required.
The title of the contract should now read “Rebabbitting Pump and Blower Bearings at the Calumet and North Side Water Reclamation Plants.” Throughout the rest of the letter, all references to the Stickney Water Reclamation Plant are deleted.
The total estimated cost in the title and body of the board transmittal letter indicated “$65,400.00” and should now read “$43,400.00”
The funding stated in the title and body of the board transmittal letter indicated “Accounts 101-67000/68000/69000-612600” and should now read “Accounts 101-67000/68000-612600.”
The requisitions in the title and body of the board transmittal letter indicated “1266701, 1275132 and 1273222” and should now read “1275132 and 1276313.”
In the second paragraph of the body of the board transmittal letter, “Worthington 84” x 66” LCS” and “Allis Chalmers 42” x 36” LS” are deleted and replaced by “Allis Chalmers 48” x 48” and 30” x 30” LS.”
The bid deposit in the body of the board transmittal letter indicated $3,200.00 and should now read $2,100.00.
The tentative schedule should now be as follows:
Advertise July 15, 2009
Bid Opening August 4, 2009
Award September 17, 2009
Completion December 31, 2009
All other information provided in the board transmittal letter is correct. All related documents have been corrected.
Therefore, it is recommended that the aforesaid Board Order of May 21, 2009, be amended to effect the changes set forth above, otherwise to remain in force and effect as heretofore indicated.
