Dear Sir:
Contract documents and specifications have been prepared for Contract 21-620-11, Furnish and Deliver Reconditioned Circuit Breakers for Various Service Areas, at the request of the Maintenance and Operations Department.
The purpose of this contract is to recondition circuit breakers for District facilities. Services include, picking up breakers, refurbishing them at the Contractor’s facility, and delivering them back to the District. These breakers will ensure operational reliability and extend their useful life without having to purchase new equipment.
The estimated cost of this contract is $872,000.00. The estimated 2021, 2022 and 2023 expenditures are $72,000.00, $440,000.00 and $360,000.00 respectively.
The Multi-Project Labor Agreement (MPLA) is not applicable to this contract because it is a furnish and deliver contract for equipment.
The Affirmative Action Ordinance Revised Appendix D and the Appendix V will not be included in this contract because of the limited availability of MBE/WBENBE/SBE participants who can provide the reconditioning of circuit breakers and the specialization of the project.
The tentative schedule for this contract is as follows:

Bid Opening October 19, 2021
Award November 4, 2021
Completion December 31, 2023
Funds for the 2021 expenditure are available in Accounts101-67000/68000/69000/612650/623070. Funds for the subsequent years, 2022 and 2023, are contingent on the Board of Commissioners’ approval of the District’s budget for those years.
In view of the foregoing, it is recommended that the Director of Procurement and Materials Management be authorized to advertise Contract 21-620-11.
