Dear Sir:

 

Contract documents and specifications have been prepared for Contract 22-986-11 Locomotive Repair Services at the Stickney Water Reclamation Plant, at the request of the Maintenance and Operations Department.

 

The purpose of this contract is to procure the services of a certified locomotive repair technician to provide support and locomotive parts for the maintenance of four locomotives, including re-railing services.

 

The estimated cost of this contract is not to exceed $315,000.00. The estimated 2022, 2023 and 2024 expenditures are $105,000.00, $105,000.00 and $105,0000.00 respectively.

 

The Multi-Project Labor Agreement (MPLA) and Affirmative Action Ordinance, Revised Appendix D and Appendix V will not be included in this contract due to the specialized nature of the services.

 

The tentative schedule for this contract is as follows:

Advertise                                          April 13, 2022

Bid Opening                                          May 3, 2022

Award                                                               June 2, 2022

Completion                                           December 31, 2024

 

Funds for 2022 are available in Accounts 101-69000-612670/623270. Funds for the subsequent years, 2023 and 2024, are contingent on the Board of Commissioners’ approval of the District’s budget for those years.

 

In view of the foregoing, it is recommended that the Director of Procurement and Materials Management be authorized to advertise Contract 22-986-11.
