Dear Sir:

 

Contract documents and specifications have been prepared for Contract 23-665-11, Landscape Maintenance at various service areas, at the request of the Maintenance and Operations Department.

 

The purpose of this contract is to obtain services necessary to maintain landscape at the District’s various facilities and properties for a three-year period. There will be four groups: Group A for the Stickney Service Area, Group B for the Calumet Service Area, Group C for the North Service Area and Group D for the Solids Management Areas. Separate contracts could be awarded for each group.

 

The estimated cost for this contract is $1,338,000.00. The estimated 2023, 2024 and 2025 expenditures are $446,000.00, $446,000.00 and $446,000.00, respectively.

 

The Multi-Project Labor Agreement (MPLA) will be included in this contract.

 

The Affirmative Action Ordinance Revised Appendix D, and the Appendix V, will be included in this contract. The type of work to be performed under the contract is classified as “Miscellaneous Building Construction” for establishing Minority Business Enterprise (MBE), Women’s Business Enterprise (WBE), Small Business Enterprise (SBE) and Veteran-Owned Business Enterprise (VBE) utilization goals. The associated utilization goals for this contract are 20% MBE, 9% WBE, 10% SBE and 3% VBE for each group.

 

It is estimated that this contract will employ 15-20 people.

 

The tentative schedule for this contract is as follows:

Bid Opening                       August 23, 2022

Award                                                               October 6, 2022

Completion                         December 31, 2025

 

Funds for 2023 will be made available in Accounts 101-67000/68000/69000-612420, contingent upon the Board of Commissioners’ approval of the District’s budget for that year. Funds for the subsequent years, 2024 and 2025, are contingent upon the Board of Commissioners’ approval of the District’s budget for those years.

 

In view of the foregoing, it is recommended that the Director of Procurement and Materials Management be authorized to advertise Contract 23-665-11.
