Authority to issue a one (1) day permit for Power Force Productions, Inc. to access the District’s Main Office Building premises located at 100 East Erie Street, Chicago, Illinois, to film a scene for the television series "Power Book IV: Force" - Season 2. Consideration shall be $15,000.00

Dear Sir:
Power Force Productions, Inc. (“Power Force”) has requested a one (1) day permit to film a scene for the television series "Power Book IV: Force", - Season 2, on the District’s Main Office Building (“MOB”) lobby premises located at 100 East Erie Street, Chicago, Illinois. Power Force expects to have a cast and crew of approximately 80 people on the premises. The filming date is scheduled for Thursday, June 9, 2022, and the anticipated duration of filming is seven (7) hours, from approximately 5:00 PM to 11:59 PM. No other access to MOB will be permitted other than the lobby.
The scene to be filmed at the MOB consists of an actor walking out of the main entrance and being picked up by another actor driving a motor vehicle. Access to the lobby is necessary so that the actor can walk out of the building along with some extras as well and some extras in the lobby as background. No filming will take place inside the lobby. The permit request also includes changing one MWRD flag to the City of Chicago flag; covering the “Metropolitan Water Reclamation District” sign with a “Police Station” sign; using the District’s metal detector as a prop; and placing some stanchions and lighting equipment inside the lobby.
Because the filming relates to a television series of which the District has no control over content, the District’s signs, logo, or identification of District property is not permitted. However, this does not preclude acknowledgment of the District’s cooperation in the television show’s closing credits.
The District’s Administrative Services Officer has reviewed Power Force’s request to film at the District’s MOB and has no objections. It is recommended that the permit fee be $15,000.00 due to the expedited nature of the request and the after-hours use of the MOB lobby.
It is requested that the Executive Director recommend to the Board of Commissioners that it authorize and approve the issuance of a one (1) day permit for Power Force Productions, Inc. to access the District’s Main Office Building premises located at 100 East Erie Street, Chicago, Illinois, to film a scene for the television series "Power Book IV: Force" - Season 2. Consideration shall be $15,000.00.
It is also requested that the Executive Director recommend to the Board of Commissioners that it authorize and direct the Chairman of the Committee on Finance and the Clerk to execute the permit agreement after it is approved by the General Counsel as to form and legality.
