Title
Authority to grant a 25-year, 50’ x 1,111’ non-exclusive easement to Comcast of Illinois/Indiana, LLC to continue to operate an aerially suspended coaxial fiber cable on District real estate located west of the Francisco Avenue Bridge over the Cal-Sag Channel in Blue Island, Illinois. Consideration shall be an initial annual fee of $10,000.00

Dear Sir:
Since October 7, 1999, Comcast of Illinois/Indiana, LLC (“Comcast”) has operated and maintained a 50’ x 1,111’ aerially suspended coaxial fiber transmission cable and appurtenances attached to poles owned by Commonwealth Edison Company on District real estate located west of the Francisco Avenue Bridge over the Cal-Sag Channel from Cal-Sag Channel Parcel 14.02 to Cal-Sag Parcel 14.13 in Blue Island, Illinois, under a permit which, as extended from time to time, expires October 31, 2022. Comcast’s easement is subject to Commonwealth Edison Company’s written consent.
Comcast has now requested a 25-year easement to continue to operate and maintain its aerially suspended coaxial fiber cable crossing at the subject location.
The District's technical departments have reviewed the subject request and have no objections to the easement. The easement fee of $10,000.00 represents 10% over the fair market value based on comparable appraisals of nearby sites.
It is requested that the Executive Director recommend to the Board of Commissioners that it authorize the grant of a 25-year, 50’ x 1,111’ non-exclusive easement to Comcast of Illinois/Indiana, LLC to continue to operate an aerially suspended coaxial fiber cable on District real estate located west of the Francisco Avenue Bridge over the Cal-Sag Channel in Blue Island, Illinois. Consideration shall be an initial annual fee of $10,000.00.
It is also requested that the Executive Director recommend to the Board of Commissioners that the Chairman of the Committee on Finance and the Clerk be authorized and directed to execute said easement agreement after it is approved by the General Counsel as to form and legality.
