COMMITTEE ON REAL ESTATE
Mr. Brian A. Perkovich, Executive Director
Title
Authority to grant a 25-year, 14,873 sq. ft. non-exclusive easement to the Village of Burr Ridge to continue to construct, reconstruct, operate, maintain, repair and remove a 36” watermain east of Willow Springs Road in Willow Springs, Illinois. Consideration shall be an initial annual fee of $6,217.00.
Body
Dear Sir:
Since January 1, 1997, the Village of Burr Ridge (“Burr Ridge”) has operated the subject watermain under a 25-year, non-exclusive easement traversing District Main Channel Parcels 29.01 and 30.06, the Main Channel and the Des Plaines River, and located approximately 125’ east of Willow Springs Road in Willow Springs, Illinois. The watermain supplies water to Bedford Park. The easement expires December 31, 2022.
Burr Ridge has now requested a new 25-year, 14,873 sq. ft. easement to continue to operate and maintain its 36” wide watermain at the subject location. Main Channel Parcel 29.01 is leased to the Forest Preserve District of Cook County (“Forest Preserve”). The easement is therefore subject to the Forest Preserve’s consent.
The District's technical departments have reviewed the easement request and have no objections. The easement fee of $6,217.00 represents 10% over the current annual easement fee paid by Burr Ridge.
It is requested that the Executive Director recommend to the Board of Commissioners that it authorize the grant of a 25-year, 14,873 sq. ft. non-exclusive easement to the Village of Burr Ridge to continue to construct, reconstruct, operate, maintain, repair and remove a 36” wide watermain east of Willow Springs Road in Willow Springs, Illinois. Consideration shall be an initial annual fee of $6,217.00.
It is also requested that the Executive Director recommend to the Board of Commissioners that the Chairman of the Committee on Finance and the Clerk be authorized and directed to execute said easement agreement after it is approved by the General Counsel as to form and legality.
Requested, Susan T. Morakalis, General Counsel, STM:MTC:MM:vp
Recommended, Brian A. Perkovich, Executive Director
