Authority to advertise Contract 24-698-11, Underground Utility Locating and Marking, estimated cost $660,000.00, Account 101-66000-612490, Requisition 1603224

Dear Sir:

 

Contract documents and specifications have been prepared for Contract 24-698-11, Underground Utility Locating and Marking, at the request of the Maintenance and Operations Department.

 

The purpose of this contract is to obtain services to review JULIE and DIGGER requests, and locate and mark underground District facilities.

 

The estimated cost for this contract is $660,000.00. The estimated 2024 and 2025 expenditures are $330,000.00 and $330,000.00, respectively.

 

The Multi-Project Labor Agreement (MPLA) will not be included in this contract because the classification of work does not fall within the provisions of the MPLA.

 

The Affirmative Action Ordinance, Revised Appendix D and Appendix V, are not included in this contract due to the lack of available MBE/WBE/VBEs to perform the work.

 

The tentative schedule for this contract is as follows:

Advertise                                                                                    October 18, 2023

Bid Opening                                                               November 14, 2023

Award                                                                                                         December 7, 2023

Completion                                                               December 31, 2025

 

Funds are being requested in Account 101-66000-612490, and are contingent upon the Board of Commissioners’ approval of the District’s budget for 2024 and 2025.

 

In view of the foregoing, it is recommended that the Director of Procurement and Materials Management be authorized to advertise Contract 24-698-11.
