Dear Sir:

 

On September 23, 2021, the Board of Commissioners authorized the Director of Procurement and Materials Management to award Contract 21-690-11, Beneficial Reuse of Biosolids from LASMA and CALSMA, Group B CALSMA, to Stewart Spreading, Inc., in an amount not to exceed $2,675,100.00. The contract expires on December 31, 2024.

 

There have been no prior change orders.

A decrease in contract value is being requested due to new requirements for the removal, hauling, and transportation of biosolids. This change order is in compliance with the Illinois Criminal Code since the change is due to circumstances not reasonably foreseeable at the time the contract was signed and is in the best interest of the District.

 

It is hereby recommended that the Board of Commissioners authorize the Director of Procurement and Materials Management to execute a change order to decrease Contract 21-690-11, Group B, in an amount of $691,700.00 (approximately 25.9% of the current contract value), from an amount of $2,675,100.00 to an amount not to exceed $1,983,400.00.

 

Funds will be restored to Account 101-68000-612520.
