Authority to advertise Contract 24-670-11, Inspection and Repair of Cranes and Hoists at Various Locations, estimated cost $953,900.00, Accounts 101-67000/68000/69000-612240/612680, Requisitions 1606406, 1606408, and 1606424

Dear Sir:

 

Contract documents and specifications have been prepared for Contract 24-670-11, Inspection and Repair of Cranes and Hoists at Various Locations, at the request of the Maintenance and Operations Department.

 

The purpose of this contract is to inspect and repair cranes and hoists at the District’s various facilities for a three-year period.

 

The estimated cost for this contract is not to exceed $953,900.00. The estimated 2024, 2025, 2026 and 2027 expenditures are $350,000.00, $335,000.00, $178,000.00, and $90,900.00, respectively. 

 

The Multi-Project Labor Agreement (MPLA) will be included in this contract.

 

The Affirmative Action Ordinance, Revised Appendix D and Appendix V will not be included in this contract due to the limited availability of MBE/WBE/VBE participants who can provide the inspection and repair services.

 

The tentative schedule for this contract is as follows:

Advertise                     November 22, 2023

Bid Opening:                     January 9, 2024

Award                                          February 1, 2024

Completion                      March 1, 2027

                    

Funds are being requested in 2024 in Accounts 101-67000/68000/69000-612240/612680. Funds for the subsequent years, 2025, 2026, and 2027, are contingent upon the Board of Commissioners’ approval of the District’s budget for those years.

 

In view of the foregoing, it is recommended that the Director of Procurement and Materials Management be authorized to advertise Contract 24-670-11.
