COMMITTEE ON PROCUREMENT

Mr. Brian A. Perkovich, Executive Director

Title

Report on rejection of bids for Contract 23-115-12 (Re-Bid), Furnish and Deliver Label Printers, Barcode Scanners, and Accessories, estimated cost $120,000.00

Body

Dear Sir:

On May 18, 2023, the Board of Commissioners authorized the Director of Procurement and Materials Management to advertise for bids Contract 23-115-11, Furnish and Deliver Label Printers, Barcode Scanners, and Accessories.

In response to a public advertisement of June 21, 2023, a bid opening was held on July 11, 2023. The bid was rejected as reported at the August 10, 2023 Board meeting.

In response to a public re-advertisement of August 23, 2023, a bid opening was held on September 12, 2023. The bid tabulation for this contract is:

BARCODES, LLC                                                                                                                                                   *$86,091.72

*corrected total

A review of the bid submitted by Barcodes, LLC, by the Monitoring and Research Department revealed that the bidder did not bid all items of the contract as required and recommends the rejection of their bid. The Director of Procurement and Materials Management concurs.

Therefore, the Director of Procurement and Materials Management has notified Barcodes, LLC that their bid is considered non-responsive and rejected based on the above information and in the public’s best interest.

The Monitoring and Research Department will review and revise the contract prior to re-advertising. Items for custom/specialized labels will be removed from the contract.

Requested, Edward W. Podczerwinski, Director of Monitoring and Research

Respectfully Submitted, Darlene A. LoCascio, Director of Procurement and Materials Management, DAL:SEB:gv
