RESOLUTION sponsored by the Board of Commissioners recognizing the Climate Action Museum

Body

 

WHEREAS, on June 21, 2023, the Climate Action Museum (CAM) opened in Chicago.  Located downtown, the CAM is the seventh museum in the world dedicated to educating the public regarding the fragile state of our current climate and focusing on the ways in which we can all reduce our contributions to global warming; and 

 

WHEREAS, a key component of the CAM is an exhibit entitled “Chicago Architecture through the Climate Lens”.  This exhibit features three walls containing landmark buildings in Chicago from the 19th, 20th, and 21st centuries; and

 

WHEREAS, the goal of the CAM is to encourage people to take small steps that will support large scale changes in the way that we view our environment and foster a healthy ecosystem.  The CAM also strives to extend the conversation regarding environmental awareness to all communities; and

 

WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago acknowledges the need for the conservation of our natural resources and salutes the efforts of those that continue to advocate for positive change; and

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that we, the Board of Commissioners of the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago, on behalf of ourselves and our staff, do hereby recognize the Climate Action Museum; and 

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that this Resolution be spread upon the permanent Record of Proceedings of the Board of Commissioners of the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago.
