Dear Sir:
Contract documents and specifications have been prepared for Contract 24-625-11, Diving Services at Various Locations, at the request of the Maintenance and Operations Department.
The purpose of this contract is for divers to inspect and repair underwater structures at various District facilities for a two-year period.
The estimated cost for this contract is not to exceed $190,000.00. The estimated 2024 and 2025 expenditures are $95,000.00 and $95,000.00, respectively.
The Multi-Project Labor Agreement (MPLA) will not be included in this contract because the classification of work does not fall within the provisions of the MPLA.
The Affirmative Action Ordinance, Revised Appendix D will not be included in this contract due to the specialized nature of the work involved and the lack of availability of MBE/WBE/VBE subcontractors to perform the scope of work.
The tentative schedule for this contract is as follows:
Advertise January 10, 2024
Bid Opening January 30, 2024
Award February 15, 2024
Completion December 31, 2025
Funds are available in 2024 in Account 101-66000-612490. Funds for the subsequent year are contingent upon the Board of Commissioners’ approval of the District’s budget for that year.
In view of the foregoing, it is recommended that the Director of Procurement and Materials Management be authorized to advertise Contract 24-625-11.
