Authority to advertise Contract 24-665-11, Landscape Maintenance at Various Service Areas, estimated cost $2,101,100.00, Accounts 101-67000/68000/69000-612420, Requisitions 1609292, 1580835 and 1577294

Dear Sir:

 

Contract documents and specifications have been prepared for Contract 24-665-11, Landscape Maintenance at Various Service Areas, at the request of the Maintenance and Operations Department.

 

The purpose of this contract is to obtain services necessary to maintain landscape at the District’s various facilities and properties for a three-year period. There will be four groups: Group A for the Stickney Service Area, Group B for the Calumet Service Area, Group C for the North Service Area, and Group D for the Solids Management Areas. Separate contracts could be awarded for each group.

 

The estimated cost for this contract is not to exceed $2,101,100.00. The estimated 2024, 2025, 2026, and 2027 expenditures are $499,430.00, $691,030.00, $691,030.00, and $219,610.00, respectively.

 

The Multi-Project Labor Agreement (MPLA) will be included in this contract.

 

The Affirmative Action Ordinance Revised Appendix D, and the Appendix V, will be included in this contract. The type of work to be performed under the contract is classified as “Miscellaneous Building Construction” for establishing utilization goals. The individual goals for this contract are 20% Minority-owned Business Enterprises (MBE), 9% Women-owned Business Enterprises (WBE), and 3% Veteran-owned Business Enterprises (VBE).

 

The tentative schedule for this contract is as follows:

Advertise                                          January 24, 2024

Bid Opening                     February 27, 2024

Award                                                               April 4, 2024

Completion                      April 30, 2027

 

Funds for 2024 are available in Accounts 101-67000/68000/69000-612420. Funds for the subsequent years, 2025, 2026, and 2027, are contingent upon the Board of Commissioners’ approval of the District’s budget for those years.

 

In view of the foregoing, it is recommended that the Director of Procurement and Materials Management be authorized to advertise Contract 24-665-11.
