Dear Sir:

 

Contract documents and specifications have been prepared for Contract 24-635-51, Reservoir Mowing at Various Locations in Cook County, Illinois, at the request of the Maintenance and Operations Department.

 

The purpose of this contract is to provide mowing services to maintain various reservoirs in Cook County, Illinois for a twenty-four month period. There will be two groups: Group A for north reservoirs and Group B for south reservoirs. Separate contracts could be awarded for each group.

 

The estimated cost for this contract is not to exceed $928,600.00. The estimated 2024, 2025, and 2026 expenditures are $232,150.00, $464,300.00, and $232,150.00, respectively.

 

The Multi-Project Labor Agreement (MPLA) will be included in this contract.

 

The Affirmative Action Ordinance Revised Appendix D and Appendix V will be included in this contract. The type of work to be performed under the contract is classified as “Landscaping” for establishing utilization goals. The individual goals for this contract are 20% Minority-owned Business Enterprises (MBE), 10% Women-owned Business Enterprises (WBE), and 3% Veteran-owned Business Enterprises (VBE).

 

The tentative schedule for this contract is as follows:

Advertise                     July 17, 2024

Bid Opening                     August 13, 2024

Award                     September 5, 2024

Completion                      September 5, 2026

 

Funds for 2024 are available in Account 501-50000-612620. Funds for the subsequent years are contingent upon the Board of Commissioners’ approval of the District’s budget for those years.

 

In view of the foregoing, it is recommended that the Director of Procurement and Materials Management be authorized to advertise Contract 24-635-51.
