Body

Dear Sir:

Contract documents and specifications have been prepared for Contract 25-690-11, Beneficial Reuse of Biosolids from LASMA and CALSMA, for a two-year period, at the request of the Maintenance and Operations Department.

The purpose of this contract is to transport semi-dry biosolids and centrifuge cake from various District sites and apply the biosolids to agricultural land. There will be two groups: Group A for LASMA and Group B for CALSMA. Separate contracts could be awarded for each group.

The Multi-Project Labor Agreement (MPLA) will not be included in this contract because the classification of work does not fall within the provisions of the MPLA.

The Affirmative Action Ordinance Revised Appendix D will be included in this contract. The type of work to be performed under the contract is classified as “Hauling Services” for establishing utilization goals. The individual goals for this contract are 20% Minority-owned Business Enterprises (MBE) and 13% Women-owned Business Enterprises (WBE).
