RESOLUTION sponsored by the Board of Commissioners recognizing the 35^th anniversary of the Federation of Women Contractors

Body

WHEREAS, on October 30, 2024, the Federation of Women Contractors (FWC) will officially celebrate its 35^th anniversary.  Founded in 1989, the FWC is credited as being the largest advocacy organization dedicated to women owned construction industry contractors in the State of Illinois; and

WHEREAS, the FWC represents women engaged in all industries that focus on construction including architecture and engineering firms, landscaping, professional services companies, specialty contractors, general construction, and suppliers; and

WHEREAS, the FWC helps to ensure that women owned businesses are provided with equal opportunities for economic success.  To achieve that goal, the FWC advocates tirelessly for its members on the local, state, and national levels; and

WHEREAS, additionally, the FWC is a participant on numerous boards, commissions, and committees, ensuring that the concerns of its membership are heard; and

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that we, the Board of Commissioners of the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago, on behalf of ourselves and our staff, do hereby recognize the 35^th anniversary of the Federation of Women Contractors; and 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that this resolution be spread upon the permanent Record of Proceedings of the Board of Commissioners of the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago.
