Dear Sir:
Contract documents and specifications have been prepared for Contract 25-672-11, Furnishing and Delivering Tires for Heavy Equipment to Various Locations, at the request of the Maintenance and Operations Department.
The purpose of this contract is to furnish and deliver tires for heavy equipment and dispose the used tires. There will be two groups: Group A for the Stickney Service Area and Group B for the Calumet Service Area. Separate contracts could be awarded for each group.
The estimated cost for this contract is $100,000.00. The estimated 2025 and 2026 expenditures are $59,290.00 and $40,710.00, respectively.
The Multi-Project Labor Agreement (MPLA) will not be included in this contract because the classification of work does not fall within the provisions of the MPLA.
The Affirmative Action Ordinance Revised Appendix D and Appendix V will not be included in this contract because the estimated total expenditure is below the minimum threshold established by Section 4 of the ordinance.
The tentative schedule for this contract is as follows:

Bid Opening March 25, 2025
Award April 17, 2025
Completion May 17, 2026
Funds are available in 2025 in Accounts 101-68000/69000-623250. Funds for the subsequent year are contingent upon the Board of Commissioners’ approval of the District’s budget for that year.
In view of the foregoing, it is recommended that the Director of Procurement and Materials Management be authorized to advertise Contract 25-672-11.
