TRANSMITTAL LETTER FOR BOARD MEETING OF JANUARY 23, 2025

COMMITTEE ON PROCUREMENT

Mr. Brian A. Perkovich, Executive Director

Title

Report on rejection of bids for Contract 25-100-12 (Re-Bid), Preventative Maintenance for Steam Sterilizers, Labor, and Parts, estimated cost $54,000.00

Body

Dear Sir:

On June 20, 2024, the Board of Commissioners authorized the Director of Procurement and Materials Management to advertise for bids Contract 25-100-11, Preventative Maintenance for Steam Sterilizers, Labor, and Parts.

In response to a public advertisement of October 9, 2024, a bid opening was held on November 5, 2024.  No bids were received.

In response to a public re-advertisement of November 20, 2024, a bid opening was held on December 10, 2024.  The bid tabulation for this contract is:

SCIENTIFIC SERVICES PLUS, LLC                     *$38,166.00

     *Corrected Total

The sole bid received from Scientific Services Plus, LLC (Scientific) is rejected.  The proposal pages for items 2, 6, and 10 for labor hours did not indicate the total number of hours needed to repair the equipment in the extension area.  It only stated the number of sterilizers to repair.  This led to a corrected total for the bid above.  The Monitoring and Research Department will revise the contract documents to reflect the correct information in the proposal on the re-advertisement.

The Monitoring and Research Department will revise and re-advertise this contract.

Requested, Edward W. Podczerwinski, Director of Monitoring and Research

Respectfully Submitted, Darlene A. LoCascio, Director of Procurement and Materials Management, DAL:SEB:pk
