Body

Dear Sir:

Contract documents and specifications have been prepared for Contract 25-618-11, Specialized Repairs for Large Motors and Excitation Systems, at the request of the Maintenance and Operations Department.

The purpose of this contract is to procure specialized services, such as inspections, repairs, and testing services for large motors and excitation systems, at various facilities for a three-year period.

The estimated cost for this contract is not to exceed $445,800.00. The estimated 2025, 2026, 2027, and 2028 expenditures are $74,700.00, $138,200.00, $138,200.00, and $94,700.00, respectively.

The Multi-Project Labor Agreement (MPLA) will not be included in this contract because the specialized services are performed by trained technicians.

The Affirmative Action Ordinance, Revised Appendix D, and Appendix V will not be included in this contract because of the lack of availability of bidders and the specialization of the project.

The tentative schedule for this contract is as follows:

Advertise                                           April 30, 2025

Bid Opening                                          May 20, 2025

Award                                                               June 26, 2025

In view of the foregoing, it is recommended that the Director of Procurement and Materials Management be authorized to advertise Contract 25-618-11.

Requested, John P. Murray, Director of Maintenance and Operations, EJS:JS:SH:JR:SSG
