RESOLUTION FOR BOARD MEETING OF MARCH 20, 2025
Title
RESOLUTION sponsored by the Board of Commissioners recognizing the National Honor Society of Wendell Phillips High School
Body
WHEREAS, Wendell Phillips Academy High School in Bronzeville is one of the oldest African American high schools in the City of Chicago. It was named in honor of Wendell Phillips, a humanitarian, educator, abolitionist and orator; and
WHEREAS, the National Honor Society was founded over 100 years ago and recognizes the values of scholarship, service, leadership and character and includes a chapter at Wendell Phillips Academy High School; and
WHEREAS, the current members of the Wendell Phillips Academy High School National Honor Society include the following students:

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that we, the Board of Commissioners of the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago, on behalf of ourselves and our staff, do hereby congratulate the students of the Wendell Phillips Academy High School National Honor Society; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that this Resolution be spread upon the permanent Record of Proceedings of the Board of Commissioners of the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago and that a copy of same, suitably engrossed, be presented to the students of the Wendell Phillips Academy High School National Honor Society.
