Dear Sir:

 

Contract documents and specifications have been prepared for Contract 25-350-11, Hazardous Waste Disposal from Various Locations, at the request of the Law Department.

 

The purpose of this contract is to legally dispose of various hazardous, medical, and special wastes from the District’s various facilities throughout Cook County.

 

The estimated cost for this contract is $210,000.00. The estimated 2025, 2026, 2027 and 2028 expenditures are $56,000.00, $70,000.00, $70,000.00 and $14,000.00 respectively.

 

The bid deposit for this contract is $10,500.00.

 

The Multi-Project Labor Agreement (MPLA) will not be included in this contract because the classification of work does not fall within the provisions of the MPLA.

 

The Affirmative Action Ordinance Revised Appendix D and Appendix V will not be included in this contract due to the limited availability of MBE/WBE/VBE firms capable of performing the specialized waste collection and disposal services required under the contract.

 

It is estimated that this contract will employ approximately 8 personnel.

 

The tentative schedule for this contract is as follows:

Advertise                                          April 30, 2025

Bid Opening                       May 16, 2025

Award                                                               June 5, 2025

Completion                                          March 31, 2028

 

Funds are available in 2025, in Account 101-30000-612520. Funds for the subsequent years, 2026, 2027 and 2028, are contingent upon the Board of Commissioners’ approval of the District’s budget for those years.

 

In view of the foregoing, it is recommended that the Director of Procurement and Materials Management be authorized to advertise Contract 25-350-11.
