Authority to advertise Contract 26-625-11, Diving Services at Various Locations, estimated cost $190,000.00, Account 101-66000-612490, Requisition 1639876

Dear Sir:

 

Contract documents and specifications have been prepared for Contract 26-625-11, Diving Services at Various Locations, at the request of the Maintenance and Operations Department.

 

The purpose of this contract is for divers to inspect and repair underwater structures at various District facilities for a two-year period.

 

The estimated cost for this contract is not to exceed $190,000.00. The estimated 2026 and 2027 expenditures are $95,000.00 and $95,000.00, respectively.

 

The Multi-Project Labor Agreement (MPLA) will not be included in this contract because the classification of work does not fall within the provisions of the MPLA.

 

The Affirmative Action Ordinance, Revised Appendix D and Appendix V will not be included in this contract because there are insufficient numbers of certified MBEs, WBEs, and VBEs available to perform this specialized scope of work.

 

The tentative schedule for this contract is as follows:

Bid Opening                                                                  November 18, 2025

Award                                                                                    December 18, 2025

Completion                                                                     December 31, 2027

 

Funds for 2026 are being requested in Account 101-66000-612490. Funds for the subsequent year are contingent upon the Board of Commissioners’ approval of the District’s budget for that year.

 

In view of the foregoing, it is recommended that the Director of Procurement and Materials Management be authorized to advertise Contract 26-625-11.
