Authority to settle the Workers’ Compensation Claim of Keith Conry vs. MWRDGC, Claim number 18WC06548, Illinois Workers’ Compensation Commission (IWCC), in the sum of $56,641.50, Account 901-30000-601090

Dear Sir:
Keith Conry is a Pipefitter at the Calumet Water Reclamation Plant. He reported that on July 8, 2015, while trying to tighten a pipe fitting, he injured his left shoulder. Mr. Conry had shoulder surgery on July 8, 2017, at which time he was placed off work. He returned to work on January 3, 2018.
Mr. Conry was not paid any lost time benefits.
Mr. Conry filed an Application of Adjustment of Claims with the Illinois Workers’ Compensation Commission (IWCC) through his counsel. Subject to the approval of the IWCC, this case can now be settled for a total of $56,641.50, representing approximately 15.0% loss of use of a person as a whole. This settlement will close out future lost time, and medical benefits associated with this injury.
The Director of Human Resources believes this settlement is in the best interest of the District and requests payment of that sum be approved and he be authorized to execute such documents as may be necessary to effect the settlement.
