Mr. John P. Murray, Executive Director

Title

Body

Dear Sir:

Contract documents and specifications have been prepared for Contract 26-612-11, Street Sweepers at Various Locations, at the request of the Maintenance and Operations Department.

The purpose of this contract is to procure services to clean roads at the District’s solids handling areas. There will be two groups: Group A for the Lawndale Avenue Solids Management Area (LASMA) and Group B for the Calumet Solids Management Area (CALSMA). Separate contracts could be awarded for each group.

The estimated cost for this contract is not to exceed $271,000.00. The estimated 2026, 2027, 2028, and 2029 expenditures are $58,000.00, $89,000.00, $89,000.00, and $35,000.00, respectively.

The Multi-Project Labor Agreement (MPLA) will not be included in this contract because of the specialized nature of the work involved.

The Affirmative Action Ordinance Revised Appendix D and Appendix V will not be included in this contract due to an insufficient number of MBE, WBE, or VBE firms available to perform the scope of work.

The tentative schedule for this contract is as follows:

Advertise                                                              January 21, 2026

Bid Opening                                                      February 10, 2026

Award                                                                        March 19, 2026

Completion                                                         March 31, 2029

Funds for 2026 are available in Accounts 101-68000/69000-612420. Funds for the subsequent years, 2027, 2028, and 2029, are contingent upon the Board of Commissioners' approval of the District's budget for those years.

In view of the foregoing, it is recommended that the Director of Procurement and Materials Management be authorized to advertise Contract 26-612-11.

Requested, Pinakin V. Desai, Acting Director of Maintenance and Operations, JBS:MM:JR:AC

Recommended, Darlene A. LoCascio, Director of Procurement and Materials Management
